WHY DO MEN'S MAGAZINES WIN ALL THE AWARDS?

Since 2000, for the ASME Awards for Design, GQ has been nominated 3 times, Esquire has been nominated 4 times, won once, Details has been nominated 4 times, won twice. None of the top-selling women's magazines have been nominated. The same goes with the SPD awards.
I interviewed several design directors at various men’s and women’s magazines, wrote the copy, designed the layout, and at the end of the book, I proposed 3 stages of Glamour redesign ideas.

The last chapter of the book, "Proposal" is divided into three parts: The first proposal shows the redesign under a very low autonomy. (Charlize Theron cover) I used the exact same picture of the cover model, the same typefaces and treatments, and the same amount of cover lines. The only changes I made were on the scales and colors.
My passion project is shown at the bottom. There I gave myself an absolute autonomy. If I could pull the ultimate eloquency that can convert Jesus Christ into Buddhism, I might be able to sell these ideas to the women"s magazine publishers.
If this proposal stays looking utterly unrealistic for the next couple of years, I would be willing to settle on the second part of the proposal, (Jennifer Garner cover) where I imposed several rules to the layout such as a smiling celebrity, same amount of cover lines, and an upbeat energy.
